DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER SCIENCE

The department was started in 2015 with B.Sc. Computer Science programme under unaided stream. The Computer Science Department strives to be a department of choice for students and is actively repositioning itself. We have responded to our ties to industry by offering focused programs both at the undergraduate and graduate levels in order to provide a thinking and technically literate graduate of immediate value to the community.

To empower the graduates to be technologically adept, innovative, self-motivated and responsible citizens, processing human values and contribute significantly towards being a center of excellence in providing globally standard education , through a conducive teaching environment, that responds swiftly to the challenges of the ever changing world.

Mission

The mission of the Department of Computer Science is to provide quality education in computer science so as to prepare our graduates to compete in the job market and to contribute to the economic, scientific and social development of the Middle Tennessee area, the State Tennessee, and the Nation. The Department will promote excellence in teaching, scholarly activity and creative endeavors.

Achievements

Our achievements in academic
With their Excellency our students have achieved placements in various established firms like Infosys, MAX, Hyundai, Jio etc.
Ms. Aksa Eldhose of the Department was in top 20 of MG University 2020-21 under graduate result. Bano Paul, a student from 2017-20 batch, built the automatic hand sanitizer for the kothamangalam municipality during the covid pandemic.

Highlights

It is along with academic focus the department is providing facility for carrier development. Along with IQAC, Department has organized a one day IT Fest for School Students ‘VIVEKA 2020’.

B.Sc. COMPUTER SCIENCE

The B.Sc. Computer Science programme under unaided stream was started in 2015.

The main objective of the program is:

Be established and recognized as a valued professional and effective communicator in industries related to computer science and computing technologies. Practice their profession in a collaborative, team-oriented manner that embraces the multidisciplinary and multicultural environment of today’s business world. Demonstrate a breadth and depth of knowledge in the discipline of Computer Science. An ability to communicate effectively with a range of audience.

BSc CYBER FORENSIC

The B.Sc. Cyber Forensic program under unaided stream was started in 2021.

Main objective of the program is:
• To study the fundamentals of Computer Forensics
• To learn, analyze and validate Forensics Data
• To study the tools and tactics associated with Cyber Forensics

Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA)

The Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) is a three-year undergraduate degree program affilated by AICET that focuses on computer applications and software development. It is a popular choice for students who want to enter information technology (IT)field. Moreover, the IT industry is one of the fastest-growing industries in India,and there is a high demand for skilled IT professionals.A BCA degree can help you get a good job in this field.

After completing a BCA course, you can work as a software developer, web developer, system analyst, network administrator, database administrator, or IT project manager. You can also pursue higher education by doing an MCA or an MBA.

To be eligible for a BCA course,you must have passed 10+2 or equivalent with a minimum of 50 percent marks in Mathematics.
